Liquid immersion cooling cuts costs by 95%

Intel, SGI, and 3M announced some revolutionary ways to cool data center equipment with the Novec Engineering Fluid. Some prototype data centers are immersion cooled to run 1.2 megawatts in a container form factor. This is a potential huge boon for high performance computing (HPC) applications, where currently rack densities are running up to 225 kW and container efficiency is a mind-blowing < 1.02 PUE.
